Metroid Prime Remastered - Menus & UX

As the UI artist on Metroid Prime Remastered, I was responsible for all UI visuals in the game. In addition to all of the HUDs and visors, this also included remastering the main menu, game over, and victory FMVs, as well as all in-game menus. I also contributed a great deal of UX design, including designing the expanded Extras system, writing all options tooltips, and overseeing accessibility features such as Color Assist. This project was a dream come true, and it was such a relief to see both the game and its additions received well by fans.

Metroid Prime Remastered was my first game at Retro Studios, and a dream come true. Remastering the logo and main menu was an honor.

The expanded options section includes helpful tooltips and a new colorblind mode. We also made sure to give people the ability to turn the HUD and helmet off, as some people find that's more immersive than the diegetic visor.

We designed the Extras to be a celebration of both the classic and the remaster. They included a concept gallery with both new and classic concept collections, a new 3D character viewer, and an expanded soundtrack gallery.
